It SNOWED!

In San Francisco. In Cupertino. In Santa Cruz. In Saratoga. Everywhere but sunnyvale. But my friends and I drove up to skyline boulevard and we got a little glimpse of the magic. It was almost a half hour drive up there, in the dark, and the road was pretttyyy windy. But we survived. And we found snow :) and a great view!

I keep on hopin', and prayin', and wishin' FOR SNOW!

And I'm not the only one. Check it out!!!! The entire bay area is waiting with me. And for good reason. In case you don't know, the last time there was a snowstorm in San Francisco....it was 1976. nineteen seventy six. I wasn't even ALIVE then. And the last time those people saw snow, well they must be at least 35 now. Look at what a white San Francisco it was last time...

So I will keep my vigil. And keep checking my phone every few minutes to make sure there are still snowflakes on the weather app. If you remember, last time I checked Sunnyvale, and it said it would snow on Saturday. Well it didn't even have snowflakes in San Francisco yesterday...but check it out now!!!!

I am literally dying of anticipation for this snow storm. I know it might not happen, and I really shouldn't get my hopes up....but I really can't help it. But tomorrow night, my friend Nicole and I are going up to highway 9 where they practically guaranteed snow! Hopefully we can throw some snowballs around :)

There might be snow in SAN FRANCISCO this weekend!!!

So big news in the weather industry this weekend. Apparently it might get cold enough to snow in the bay area!!! As an avid hater of cold weather and snow....I've decided to temporarily ignore that I hate cold weather, because I think this might be the coolest thing in the entire world. No one really expects the snow to stick, but it would be cool to see some flakes.

Check out this website: http://www.isitsnowinginsfyet.com/

And look at what my iPhone told me!! Forget San Francisco, SNOW IN SUNNYVALE. ironic isn't it?

I see snowflakes on Saturday!

And if you recall from baseball season, I am a huge San Francisco Chronicle fan, and if the Chronicle says it might snow, I'm going to believe them. So weather gods, please bring us some snow this weekend...because my poor little heart will be crushed otherwise.

Margaaareeta comes to San Diego!!

*This is our first dual post. We wanted to write about Valentine's Day together so Matt started the post (in black) and Margaret edited the post (in purple)!*

so, Margaret has already told you about our thursday so Ill skip right into friday.  the morning of friday was a very lazy one for us.  we went to sprinkles cupcakes for the first time ever and waited 35 minutes for the most awesome cupcakes in the entire world.  we tried the red velvet cupcake (their most famous) and the raspberry chocolate chip...which was only around for valentine's day.  we pretty much lounged around until we went to dinner.  we headed down to the yardhouse in downtown for some happy hour.  this happy hour is one of our favorites and we definitely recommend it to anyone.  plus, the atmosphere of the restaurant is really cool so that definitely adds to the overall experience.  plus we watched the lakers win!!!  after the yardhouse we went to the ucsd baseball game.  they put up lights this year so going to friday night games have been really good experiences.  it almost brings me back to the good ol' days of playing ball myself.   we also hung out with our friends, hilary and brad, afterwards.  hilary and i are in the same sorority, and brad is her boyfriend.  brad is a huge beer connoisseur, so he took us to his local bars, where matt got to try some of his favorite beers. overall, a really fun night.

what a nerd
saturday, we went to lunch with some old friends (mainly margaret's because I "remet" some of them that I've known for a couple years now haha) and had sushi at one of our favorite sushi places, sushi ki.  we had a lot of fun because we saw two of our really good friends, patrick and jeff, who have since moved to la.  and of course, miss danielle, my old roommate. I've missed that girl soooo much!  we did some other small things throughout the day but it was pretty mellow all around.  we finished the day by watching the movie Dear John.  channing tatum has got to be one of THE worst actors ever.  however, I will step out on a limb and say that this movie was not his worst.  but, I can surely say that I will not be buying it on bluray anytime soon.  and we made a fruit bowl. yum :)

sunday, we woke up and went to the 11 o'clock service at Flood church and that was really good.  church has been something that I have really been getting into and wanting to grow in and so it was really cool to share that with margaret.  I feel like we can grow more passionately towards each other if we share this desire of faith.  after church we went to mama testas with our friends hilary and brad to try out the fish tacos that gained fame when they defeated the famous bobby flay in a smackdown.  however, these tacos were definitely a disappointment.  in the end, we were simply glad that we had tried them.  we ended our sunday by going bowling!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I find bowling to be extremely enjoyable because everyone sucks and so its an even playing field for all which opens up room for competition.  it was margaret, bryan, and myself who went and it was definitely cool to spend time with one of the roommates outside of the house.

this was on our table at mama testas

famous fish tacos

we had a stellar first round

monday.....hmmmm I cant remember monday really.  I feel like there was something important that went on the day....oh ya it was VALENTINES DAY!!!!!!!!  our day was awesome together.  it was especially awesome for the simple fact that we were together and sort of freestyled most of the day.  we made pancakes in the morning!!  we got costco hot dogs, sprinkles cupcakes, and finished the day with a picnic at la jolla shores and watched the sunset together. the weather was beautiful and so was the girl I got to spend the day with.  margaret got me some personalized gift certificates that I get to use whenever I want!  some of them include a back massage, a giants hat, and coldstone!  my gift was not completed but I must say that I am very excited about it.  and telling her it was a surprise only made it worse because she is very impatient when it comes to surprises haha.  so here's another clue margaret:  it will entail my abilities I have learned with technology mixed with the amenities of my school.  and I promise I will have it done by this week.  is it here yet?

more sprinkles!!!

tuesday was characterized by lucha libre (which has, hands down, the best burrito in the entire world!!!!!!) and my girl having to leave :(  however, we will see each other soon enough and I look forward to that dearly!!

My Trip to SD: Day 1

So I am just beginning to realize that I should never commit to do anything on the blog, because that almost always makes me blog less for some weird abstract reason. Anyways, from now on, no commitments, I'm just gonna do whatever I want (and if it so happens to come in a pattern....o well). In case you don't know, I'm referencing my decision to count down Valentine's Day....But this time I had good reason. I was with my valentine :)

Thursday Night: So as you know, I arrived in San Diego for my mini vacation on Thursday night. He picked me up from the airport....and we went to Chick-Fil-A! He's been having a love affair with it in the past few months, and weirdly enough, I had never had it before. Before I begin to tell you about the gloriousness, yumminess, amazingness....hmm well I guess I already started. It is THAT good. It puts KFC, Wendy's, MickeyD's, every place that has a chicken sandwich to SHAME. Plus on top of the excellent spicy chicken sandwich (which was delicious even though I accidentally left the pickles in), they have this sauce. I'm not sure what it is....it's kind of like a honey mustard, but it is to DIE FOR. Okay, I should probably stop talking about food. (O ps did I mention they have those brand-new dippable ketchup containers...1 more point for Chick-Fil-A!). Anyways, afterwards, we met up with my second favorite guy in San Diego, Mr. Laszlo Folks, his awesome girlfriend Alice, and the rest of their gang (who ended up being some of my faves) and hung out in Ocean Beach. If you've never been to Ocean Beach, well...you gotta go. It's the ultimate surfer town....the epitome of a "bro"-town. But we love it because it has cheap bars and great food (not that we ate anymore that night...). Plus did I mention it's on the beach? Anyways, it was a low-key night, but it was fun because I was with some of the best people I know (shout-out to those FIJIs :)).

For some reason, we didn't get any pictures that night, but stay tuned.

HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY! ♥

♥ Happy Valentine's Day!!!! ♥

I hope everyone has a great day!

Matt and I have lots of fun stuff planned :) but you will have to wait until tomorrow to find out what we do (partially because I still think he has some surprises up his sleeve). But in the mean time, remember what we did last year for Valentine's Day? Hopefully this year I get a post in before March haha.

Not a Valentine's Day pic, but I thought it was appropriate.

Sprinkles....and Countdown to Valentine's Day: 3 days!

I didn't count down yesterday, but for good reason....I was busy running around getting ready to come to San Diego. And now, I'm here with Matt until Tuesday :) :). And today, for the first time in my entire life, we went to Sprinkles! And let me tell you, all those rumors you hear...about Sprinkles being the Michael Jordan of cupcakes....THEY ARE TRUE.

And because it's almost Valentine's Day, of course there was a long wait. But it was sooooo worth it.

Nothing says love like waiting in line with your girlfriend for cupcakes...for half an hour.
Thanks Matt my CUPCAKE :)

countdown to valentine's day: 5 days!

In honor of Valentine's Day, I decided to countdown to the day of love. Plus, it's pretty appropriate, because I'm flying down to see Matt tomorrow :) for Valentine's Day! Plus I really like Valentine's Day because there are hearts and pink everywhere.

Meeting you was fate, becoming your friend was a choice, but falling in love with you I had no control over.
