Lately (for whatever reason) I've been thinking of my top five music artists/songs.  This is kind of a spontaneous post, but I got really excited to write it because it's something I find myself talking about with friends often enough.  "If you were stranded on an island and had to fill your ipod with only 5 musical artists, who would make the cut?"

My Top 5 consists of artists that, at any point in time, I can turn their music on and enjoy with unwavering passion.  Most of these artists are pretty popular so I'm sure you have heard their music before, but if that is not the case I strongly recommend you check them out.

Happy Mother's Day to all the awesome amazing beautiful wonderful and incredible moms out there who love their children unconditionally all day every day. I know sometimes we can be selfish and annoying and big pains in the butt, but you guys still love us. So thanks for sticking it out with us, we love you times a trillion.

VERY (SUPER) EXCITING NEWS!

MATT EVANS GOT A JOB!!!!!

That's right, starting July 8th, Matt will be the newest employee at Backen Gillam Kroeger. He just accepted his job offer the other day (and he still has almost 6 weeks of school left). Needless to say, he is a complete rockstar and I am so incredibly proud of him. For those of you who don't know, he started interning for them the summer of 2011 (and then the summer of 2012), and has been working remotely for them from San Diego since then. We really truly love this architecture firm and all the amazing things they are doing, and we are so excited for Matt to get his start here. 

This leads us to our second piece of exciting news. As you can tell from the letter, the firm is based in Sausalito, CA (which is right across the Golden Gate Bridge from San Francisco). That means...Matt will be relocating to the Bay Area!!!!! Which also means....we won't be the token long-distance relationship couple anymore!!!!! We've known for a few weeks already, but even typing that our right now makes me want to cry (in a really really good way). We are very lucky, and I feel like God has blessed us with so much. We've had our ups and downs like every couples, but really this is probably the most "Up" up ever. Stay tuned for more updates from us, but like I said before, we are so excited to share this news with everyone!!!!!!!!

I'm not sure why, but I am obsessed with these commercials!!!

Good News Bears!!!

Sometimes things get hard and sometimes I feel a little lost. Because honestly...what am I going to do with the rest of my life? I know I might sound like a whiny 24 year old, but realistically, this is real. I am surrounded by the smartest, brightest, and most intelligent people in the world (thank you Silicon Valley) and it's hard to pinpoint where I'm going to shine the brightest. So let's start over. What is my ultimate goal in life? What do I want to do 5, 10, 50 years from now?

Welllll.... I can't say I know for sure. But I do have some good news in the meantime. I just accepted a job offer at LinkedIn. And I feel like I haven't been this excited about anything for a very long time!!! I feel like I'm finally moving in the right direction. In two weeks exactly, I'll be starting a new job at LinkedIn as a recruiting coordinator. I think part of the reason I'm so excited is because I LOVE LinkedIn (Did you know they are growing at a rate of 2 user sign-ups per second?? I know, it blows my mind toooo...).The next two weeks can't come soon enough!! The whole thing is a little bittersweet though, because I also realized how much I have appreciated the past two years at Morgan Stanley. Since the cat got out of the bag, I can't describe how grateful I am to have worked with such amazing and supportive people, and I am so thankful for each and every one of you.

Thank you to everyone who has been so supportive of me recently (Matt, my family, my friends, Jesus). Like I said previously, I've definitely had my fair share of whining and panicking. But here I am now, excited to embark on a new adventure at LinkedIn. Wish me luck!!

But waitttt.... there's more. I also signed up to be a Child Advocate in January. If you don't know what a Child Advocate is...well I think of myself as a Big Brother/Big Sister with legal rights for a specific foster child, to ensure that the needs and best interests of the child are met. I won't be an attorney, or a social worker, or a foster parent...I am just going to be a friend to a foster child. I am in my last two weeks of training, and in two Thursdays, I graduate as a court-appointed Child Advocate. I am, however, postponing taking on a child right away because of the job switch, and because I really want to be able to devote myself to being a positive impact on this little person's life. If you (or anyone you know) is interested in learning more about becoming a Child Advocate, please do not hesitate to reach out to me!!

Clydesdales... Wow

Hands down best Superbowl commercial...ever. Pretty sure I cried (on the inside) and have watched the commercial 20 times on Youtube (I know I am a joke sometimes).

We're also not going to talk about the Niners heartbreaking loss.
